A native of Charlotte, North Carolina, Colin Haley joined Smith Cashion & Orr, PLC as an Associate in 2024. His practice focuses primarily on representing contractors, subcontractors, and owners in the areas of construction law. This representation includes contract negotiation, contract drafting, construction, and commercial litigation.
Mr. Haley received a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, concentrating in Information Technology from North Carolina State University in 2019, where he served as social chair for the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity. Upon graduating from NC State, Mr. Haley was employed as a Business Systems Analyst at FIS Global testing and implementing upgrades to commodities exchange software for markets across the world.
In 2024, Mr. Haley was awarded his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Mississippi School of Law. During law school, Mr. Haley was awarded membership into the University of Mississippi Business Law Institute where he was placed as an intern at Yates Construction assisting the general counsel with the drafting and negotiation of project contracts. In addition, Mr. Haley previously clerked for Smith Cashion & Orr in the summer of 2023.
Mr. Haley was admitted to the Tennessee Bar in 2024 and is currently a member of the Tennessee Association of Construction Counsel (“TACC”).
